Besides my research activity in Computer Science, and the new teaching activities at "Vasile Goldiş" Western University, at the Computer Science Faculty, where I'm serving as Professor and Faculty' Cancelar (Scientific Secretary), I'm already retired from INCDTIM (after 41 years of activity, as Senior scientist, webmaster, Intranet-Linux admin).

Since 2003, as chairman, together with Dragoş Acostăchioaie, organizing in Arad, at "Vasile Goldiş" Western University a national eLearning workshop called Linux and Virtual Learning Environment - LVLE. an important project to promote in Romania the Freee Libre Open Source Software for Education, and especially GNU-Linux operating systems and OSS VLEs (like MOODLE, ILIAS, ATutor) and the bunch of FLOSSE special tools for math and science teaching.

Other activities/projects I was involved were at Teacher's House Cluj, between 1998-2003, on a volunteer basis. Also, volunteerely, working, as a journalist, being for a while, member of the EPRESS team, and publishing into TimSoft eLearning eJournal.

Since 1993 acting mainly in CyberSpace, publishing and teaching on the Web, organizing virtual communities, and conferences, moderating e-groups, and fighting for a proper and efficient eLearning policy into Romanian educational system.

I am a (sponsored) member of EDEN and NAP. As well an IEEE member (since March 2006), and professional member of ACM (since March 2007), and ACM SIGGRAPH member. Also, since 2008, member of the International Association of Online Engineering IAOE, and member of Kidlink International Society (and KidLeader for Romania, since 2001, unfortunately not very active) .

Also member of the TOJDE editorial board, as well as Technical Program Committee member of some conferences organized by IARIA.

Besides Computer Science and ICT research, and teaching activities, acting also as Co-President of the Cultural Society POLYGON, to promote human creativity, and to help creators without restriction on their field of activity. To use communication for new ideas, to share knowledge through conferences, exhibitions, and workshops. To work for proper educational reform, and for critical thinking skills. To use computers, Internet and technologies in education of pupils, adults, and even ageing retired people, having in mind the support of creativity, and the freedom of communication.
